Katy Smail’s vibrant illustrations add a little bit of magic wherever they go. Her decorative florals, enchanted creatures and expressive patterns bring artistic flair to editorial, advertising, publishing and apparel design. Raised amongst the purple hills and dusty trees of Scotland, Katy graduated from Edinburgh College of Art with a First Class degree in Illustration. She began her career as a fashion writer and illustrator in London, before following her dreams to New York City. Katy’s ability to capture bittersweet moods with her fashion drawings, playful collages and print design identify her as a sensitive and expressive personality. She now lives in Brooklyn, where she paints surrounded by plants, flowers and a little cat.
