Colleen Runné's career as a makeup artist began in college as a fine arts major. Next came modeling and studying art in Paris. Upon returning to New York, she went into textile design, working with some of the industry's leading designers. All of this, tied together, was perfect training for her eventual career in makeup.
Having been educated in fine arts, Colleen has a painter’s sensibility that informs her subtle approach—which is to enhance a subject’s natural uniqueness rather than disguise it. It was her artist's eye and technique that caught the attention of makeup maestro and legend, Dick Page, under whom she acted as assistant/protégé for 4 years. Colleen credits Dick Page for reshaping her thinking as a makeup artist and refining her skill with his incredible genius.
Today, Colleen is sought out by clients including Marc by Marc Jacobs, Sephora, Coach and Victoria’s Secret for her artistic flair, as well as her ability to create flawless skin. You can find her backstage keying shows and presentations with top designers such as Organic by John Patrick, Band of Outsiders Menswear and Alasdair. She also led Céline's Pre-Fall and Resort Presentations in New York for 6 seasons.
Colleen’s work has been featured in Teen Vogue, The Last Magazine, Elle, Harper's Bazaar UK, Nylon, models.com, and L'Officel. She has collaborated with famed photographers including Patrick Demarchelier, Pamela Hanson, Bjarne Jonasson, Alexei Hay, and Danielle Levitt. She has also has the privilege of working with celebrity clients Liv Tyler, Brooke Shields, Al Pacino, Robert DeNiro, Ed Burns, and Jennifer Connelly.
